PC Chacko, who recently left the Congress party, on March 16, said that in the upcoming Kerala elections, he extended his support to Left Democratic Front (LDF), and indicates that he will likely to join the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) or LDF after meeting with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. "I'm meeting Sharad Pawar. Whatever crisis party is facing, it needs to be discussed. I'm also meeting Sitaram Yechury and GN Azad to discuss future course of action. I need to extend my support to LDF. I'll decide (on joining) after meeting Pawar sahib," Chacko said.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on March 28 laid foundation stone for extension of terminal building at Gorakhpur Airport in Uttar Pradesh. Civil Aviation Minister (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri was also present during the event. Dignitaries also flagged off an Alliance Air flight from Gorakhpur to Lucknow under RCS-UDAN on this occasion. The existing terminal building commissioned in the year 2018 was designed to cater 100 passengers and has an area of 1890 sqm. The passenger traffic at the Gorakhpur airport has grown exponentially in very short span of time. Thus, to increase the passenger handling capacity of the airport and make the airport suitable for Airbus 320 type of Aircraft, AAI has planned the extension of the existing terminal building at a cost of Rs 26.87 crore. Spread in an area of 3440 sqm, the extended terminal will be equipped with 10 check-in-counters and two conveyor belts in arrival hall. The new expanded building will have escalators, lifts and enough space for a restaurant and commercial activities. Airports Authority of India (AAI) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation is committed to develop airport infrastructure in the country and provide the world-class services.

BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis, has alleged that Mumbai Police on April 17 arrested a remdesivir supplier whom BJP had approached to supply the anti-viral drug to the state amid the surge in COVID cases. Fadnavis said, "Four days ago we had requested Bruck Pharma to supply us (Remdesivir) but they couldn't until permission was given. I spoke with Union Min Mansukh Mandviya and we got FDA's permission, but at about 9 pm, police arrested him (supplier)." LoP visited the police station where the supplier was held. "DCP told us that they received inputs that some exporters had 60,000 vials and wanted to verify the same. We showed them permission letter. He (DCP) said it wasn't communicated to them. Whatever happened was wrong," said Devendra Fadnavis.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on March 25 slammed BJP and GNCTD Amendment Bill terming it as 'unconstitutional'. He also accused BJP of destroying democracy. "They (BJP) wanted to run the government through the LG. Then, what's the need for an elected government? They are destroying the democracy and the rights mentioned and the bill passed is unconstitutional. We had forced them to send the Bill to the Select Committee but they didn't agree, then, Opposition walked out of the House," Leader of Opposition said. "I wanted to get people aware how democracy is getting killed and the faults in the bill and how their rights are being used by the elected representatives," he added. GNCTD Amendment Bill was passed in Rajya Sabha amid walkout by opposition on March 24.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on March 24 slammed the BJP-JD(U) government in Bihar over the action against opposition MLAs after they created ruckus inside the assembly over the Bihar Special Armed Police Bill 2021, which, Kharge said, will give more power to the state police, and will promote 'police raj'. He also said that BJP talks about democracy but it is killing it by passing the bill. "Incident in Bihar Assembly is condemnable. I've never seen police beating women MLAs. BJP is killing democracy. If this is happening with elected leaders, what about law and order situation in the state? If Bihar Police law is passed, it'll give leeway to them," Leader of Opposition said.
