Temperature to increase by 3 degrees in next three days, predicts IMD

As temperature is soaring, heat waves have gripped several states in the northern India. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heat wave conditions will further intensify in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The temperature maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 34 degree Celsius. People are facing difficulties due to extreme hot temperature. Speaking to ANI, the scientist (DGM) in Delhi's India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dr Kuldeep Srivastava said, "For next three days, temperature will increase by 3 degrees and will reach around 37 degree Celsius by April 04".

Rajasthan's Churu reels under 43 degree Celsius

Parts of Rajasthan are reeling under severe heat waves as the temperature in Churu touched 43 degree Celsius. India Meteorological Department had predicted "Dust raising strong surface winds" over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during March 30 - April 01.

A couple misbehaved with Delhi Police personnel during the weekend lockdown. The incident took place in Delhi's Daryaganj area at around 4 pm on April 18. The couple was stopped by cops for not wearing face masks inside their car. The couple, identified as Pankaj and Abha, didn’t carry the mandatory curfew pass. They were seen shouting and yelling at the cop after he stopped their car. The couple also challenged the police to take action against them. A policewoman arrived at the scene and took the woman to a police station. A case has been registered against Pankaj and his wife Abha, informed officials. Watch the full video for more.

Relatives of patients admitted to Delhi hospitals for Covid-19 treatment recounted their ordeal amid an unprecedented surge in cases. The patients' relatives said they found admission after being rejected by multiple hospitals. One of them claimed that 4 people were being housed on a single bed, while another stated that her relative had been asked to lie down on the floor, and was being denied food and water. 'Can face people's anger but can't see piles of bodies': Haryana health minister

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said that the government has to implement Covid-19 protocols strictly even if it irks people. He added that they cannot afford to see piles of bodies. “There are two ways to contain Covid, one of them is lockdown and it is not viable. We want the lives to go on and people to be safe at the same time. The other way to check the spread is strictness in following Covid-19 protocols. I have asked officers to implement Covid rules strictly even if it irks people. We can face people's anger but we cannot see piles of bodies.,” he said. Vij added India's recovery rate is way more than other countries and fatality rate is less. As per the Health Ministry, Haryana has over 27420 active cases while death toll is 3,316.

Uttar Pradesh Sunday lockdown: Strict vigil by cops at Delhi-Noida border
