As temperature is soaring, heat waves have gripped several states in the northern India. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heat wave conditions will further intensify in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The temperature maximum temperature recorded in Delhi was 34 degree Celsius. People are facing difficulties due to extreme hot temperature. Speaking to ANI, the scientist (DGM) in Delhi's India Meteorological Department (IMD), Dr Kuldeep Srivastava said, "For next three days, temperature will increase by 3 degrees and will reach around 37 degree Celsius by April 04".
Parts of Rajasthan are reeling under severe heat waves as the temperature in Churu touched 43 degree Celsius. India Meteorological Department had predicted "Dust raising strong surface winds" over Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during March 30 - April 01.
A couple misbehaved with Delhi Police personnel during the weekend lockdown. The incident took place in Delhi's Daryaganj area at around 4 pm on April 18. The couple was stopped by cops for not wearing face masks inside their car. The couple, identified as Pankaj and Abha, didn’t carry the mandatory curfew pass. They were seen shouting and yelling at the cop after he stopped their car. The couple also challenged the police to take action against them.
