BJP chief JP Nadda while speaking to ANI in Guwahati on April 03 claimed that Assam has made up its mind to support BJP-NDA and people have made a one-sided decision in phase 1 and 2. "I see huge crowd in my rallies, entire Assam has decided to vote for BJP-NDA. We'll form govt here," he added.
A media vehicle, which was a part of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's convoy, was allegedly attacked in Nandigram's Kamalpur on April 01. The vehicle was attacked near booth number 170. Suvendu Adhikari said, "These are work of Pakistanis, 'Jay Bangla' is a slogan from Bangladesh. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a pot shot at BJP by saying that wherever the party and its ideologue RSS go, hatred starts to intensify there. He said, "People of Assam say their history and culture are being attacked. Tamil Nadu and Bengal are facing the same thing." The fifth phase of assembly polls will be held in West Bengal on April 17.

The Assamese New Year -Rongali Bihu, also known as Bohag Bihu began from April 14. Assam Government decided to allow celebrations this year, but with restrictions in public places. The festival will last for seven days and they are known as Chot Bihu, Goru Bihu Manuh Bihu, Kutum Bihu, Senehi Bihu, Mela Bihu and Chera Bihu Rongali or Bohag Bihu begins in mid-April and celebrations continue for several weeks, mainly concentrated on cultural functions. The Assam Government decided to allow Bihu celebrations with strict adherence to COVID appropriate behavior in public places.
On the auspicious festival of Vishu, devotees offered prayers at Pazhavangadi Ganapathi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram on April 14. Festival celebrates harvest and marks the beginning of Malayalam year. Vishu is dominantly celebrated in states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
