Waze case: NIA now fishes out Aurangabad car no. plate from Mithi
Monday, 29 March 2021 On Monday, a day after NIA recovered number plates among other electronic gadgets from Mithi river, Aurangabad resident Vijay Nade claimed that the two recovered number plates bearing the same registration numbers belonged to his car which was stolen from Aurangabad in November 2020. Two vehicles, a Scorpio in which explosives were placed and an Innova, which tailed it, had fake number plates.
Delhi Police Crime branch apprehended four notorious burglars. The burglars were nabbed after the Crime Branch received a tip-off that some burglars would gather at Siri Fort Road, and might commit a burglary or dacoity in the posh area of Hauz Khas. Acting upon the information, the police team conducted a raid and apprehended all the accused. The accused persons hail from Bangladesh. In the last few years they have settled illegally in many parts of India. Due to lack of education and greed for money they have started committing thefts. The accused committed several crimes across the country. They carried weapons with them. The accused used to reside on a rented room, away from the city. They have committed many burglaries in Faridabad, Jodhpur, Aurangabad, Gulbarga, Wapi, Bangaluru, Pune and Mumbai. Further investigation regarding the case is underway.
AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel is under fire for Aurangabad procession. The procession was to celebrate scrapping of plan for Aurangabad lockdown. Jaleel and his supporters were accused of not following covid precautions. Many revellers were seen without masks and no social distancing. Slogans like 'kaun aya, sher aya' (who's here? Lion's here) were raised. The following day, BJP leaders filed complaint against Jaleel. Aurangabad is one of the 10 districts in India with most active Covid-19 cases. On march 31, Aurangabad saw over 700 new cases while Maharashtra saw more than 39,500 cases.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Imtiaz Jaleel's supporters carried him on shoulders and celebrated on March 30 in Maharashtra's Aurangabad after administration decided to lift lockdown there. Jaleel and his supporters were seen without masks amid COVID-19 surge in the state. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has filed police complaint against Imtiaz on March 31 for 'violating' COVID-19 norms. "On one hand he opposes the lockdown and on the other he conspires to increase number of cases. Nobody in his procession was wearing a mask, not even he himself. Case should be registered against him," said BJP city president Sanjay Kenekar.
In the latest development in Mansukh Hiren death case, a CCTV footage has surfaced purportedly showing Sachin Waze going to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 7 pm on March 05. Waze had taken a local train to Thane that day. He was brought to CSMT on April 05 for scene recreation. Officials from Pune's Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) were also present. Waze is an accused in the death case of Mansukh Hiran, the businessman who owned the explosive-laden car parked outside Mukesh Ambani's house Antilia on February 25. Body of Mansukh Hiren was found at Kalwa creek in Thane on March 05.
"We have complete faith in NIA and judiciary," said Sachin Waze's brother Sudharm on April 03. The Special Court today extended the National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody of suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze till April 7 while also directing NIA to provide all medical aid to Waze. Waze is an accused in Mansukh Hiren death case. Waze was in NIA custody till March 25, for his alleged role and involvement in placing the explosives-laden vehicle outside the residence of Ambani. Later his custody was extended till April 3.
In the latest development in the Mansukh Hiren death case, a self-proclaimed owner has turned up of one of the number plate which was recovered from the Mithi River by the NIA. Vijay Nade claimed that number plates that were recovered yesterday by NIA from Mithi river, belong to him. He said, "My car was stolen on Nov 16, 2020, and an FIR was filed. I've a copy of the same. For three months, there was no information but yesterday, I was informed about it".On March 28, the National Investigation Agency took arrested police officer Sachin Waze to Mithi River bridge in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla complex on March 28 for evidence recovery. A team of divers recovered CPU, number plates of a vehicle, and other items from the river. Mansukh Hiren, the owner of the vehicle that was found containing explosives outside Ambani's house, was found dead in a creek on March 5 in Thane.
