Amid the disastrous second wave of COVID-19, the Indian Air Force's (IAF) C-17 aircraft, which was airborne from Hindon air base, landed in Frankfurt, Germany for airlifting medical supplies. The aircraft will depart for Mumbai carrying 35 tonnes of medical equipment.
The Indian Air Force (IAF)'s C-17 aircraft airlifted two more oxygen tankers from Pune and will land in Gujarat's Jamnagar. IAF has started airlifting big oxygen tankers from their place of use to the filling stations across the country to speed up the distribution of much-needed oxygen amid the COVID-19 crisis. This comes amid oxygen shortage in various parts of the country as the number of COVID-9 cases and deaths continue to rise.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has written to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh seeking the assistance of the Army in tackling the Covid situation in the capital. Delhi has been witnessing a high number of cases and deaths in the second wave of Covid and the crisis has been compounded by the shortage of oxygen in hospitals. Deputy CM Sisodia said that the government has appealed to all sections to help transport oxygen to the capital. He also reviewed the vaccination programme in Delhi and said that they will keep increasing vaccination as and when they receive more vaccines. Watch the full video for all the details.
