Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tested positive for COVID-19 on April 19. He has been admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi. With 2,73,810 new COVID cases, the country reported highest ever spike today.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. The 69-year-old Congress leader made the announcement on Twitter. Gehlot isolated himself on Wednesday after his wife Sunita had tested positive. PM Narendra Modi wished good health and speedy recovery to Gehlot, his wife. Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra also wished for Gehlot's speedy recovery. Meanwhile, former PM Manmohan Singh was discharged from AIIMS Delhi. The 88-year-old Congress veteran was hospitalised after testing positive for Covid. Singh was admitted to AIIMS trauma centre, a dedicated Covid facility, on April 19. Singh received the first dose of Covid vaccine on March 4 & second dose on April 3.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. The Congress leader took to Twitter and said he is experiencing mild symptoms. Rahul asked those who came in his contact recently to follow safety protocols. The Congress leader had earlier cancelled his poll rallies in West Bengal due to rising Covid-19 cases. 61-year-old gangster Chhota Rajan was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Services on 26th April. He was being treated as he contracted Covid-19. Today, a few media platforms reported that Covid has claimed the gangster's life. But AIIMS has denied the claims of death and insists that Rajan continues to live.

Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta on May 09 hit out at Arvind Kejriwal government over mismanagement of COVID crisis. "Earlier on March 6, Central government warned Delhi government about the arrangements of procurement of oxygen but they didn't do anything. But when they got pressure from hospitals, they (Delhi govt) on April 18 started looking for vendors for cryogenic oxygen tanker," said Delhi's BJP president.
Hitting out at the Arvind Kejriwal government amid COVID crisis, Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta said when BJP and RSS are helping people during oxygen shortage, Delhi government and MLAs are involved in black-marketing. "At a time when people of Delhi are gasping for oxygen, BJP, RSS and other organisations are helping people, Delhi Governments ministers and MLAs are involved in black-marketing and hoarding of medicines and oxygen. Delhi Govt and AAP are responsible for this crisis," said Delhi's BJP president.
Metro services in Delhi will be suspended for a week starting from May 10 (Monday) after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended the lockdown to control the spread of COVID-19 in the national capital. However, commuters in Delhi are not happy with government's decision. Delhi reported 13,336 new COVID cases, 273 deaths and 14,738 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
