A leopard was spotted in Nashik's residential area on May 05. The CCTV had captured the leopard wandering around in school premises. Forest Officer said, "Leopard was spotted near Ambad PS around 1 am. A motorcyclist fell down while the leopard was crossing a path. It has gone into the forest area, residential area is safe now."
'Oxygen Express' with tankers of oxygen arrived in Nashik from Visakhapatnam on April 24. The railway has made green corridor for the movement of these special trains. The requirement of oxygen has increased in the country due to prevailing COVID situation.
Central Railway CPRO Shivaji M Sutar said that the movement at green corridor for oxygen tankers has been monitored by senior-most railway officials and by Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal. "Oxygen Express will reach Nashik soon. The green corridor is created for the faster movement of these oxygen tankers and the monitoring of this movement being done at divisional level by DRMs, at zonal levels by General Managers and Railway Minister himself. So, railway transported essential commodities and kept the supply chain intact and will continue to serve the nation," said Central Railway CPRO Shivaji M Sutar.

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on April 28 said the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, has approved around Rs 6,500 crore to provide free vaccination for people between 18-44 years in the state. Tope explained that the state has nearly 5.71 crore people in the above mentioned age group and thus the state would require 12 crore doses for their vaccination. The third phase of vaccination, covering people aged 18-44 years, will start from May 01 even as several states have expressed concerns over availability of vaccines.
