India reports single-day rise of 2,82,970 Covid cases; active cases in country highest in 232 days
Wednesday, 19 January 2022 India on Wednesday reported the single day rise of 2,82,970 new Covid-19 infections, as per the data by the Union health ministry, taking the cases' tally to 3,79,01,241. This includes 8,961 cases of the Omicron variant, according to the government data updated today. There has been an 0.79 per cent increase in Omicron cases since Tuesday, the ministry said.
