Thursday, 4 August 2022 Assam has become a hotbed of “jihadi activities” with five modules having links with Bangladesh-based terror outfit Ansarul Islam busted in five months, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday.Six Bangladeshi nationals belonging to Ansarul Islam had entered Assam to indoctrinate youths, and one of them was arrested when the first module was busted at Barpeta in March this year, Sarma said.

Today, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that more than 1,800 people have been arrested in a massive crackdown on child marriage in Assam so far. The Chief Minister said that he has asked the Assam police to act against the menace with a ‘spirit of zero tolerance’.

Finland has once again topped the World Happiness Report which was released this morning, and measures social support, income, health, freedom, generosity and the absence of corruption to determine a country's national happiness. Finland has topped the list for a sixth year in a row, followed by Denmark, Iceland, Israel, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg and New Zealand. According to the report, India ranks at 125th position out of 136 countries, making it one of the least happy countries in the world. It even lags behind its neighbouring nations like Nepal, China, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. At the very bottom of the list is Afghanistan at 137th position.
