Gaganyaan: Work on exclusive facility for ECLSS begins near Bengaluru
Wednesday, 18 January 2023 The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), which has decided to indigenously develop the environmental control and life support system (ECLSS) for the proposed human spaceflight mission (Gaganyaan), has begun work on an exclusive facility in Devanahalli - near the Isro guesthouse - where work on the new technology will shift completely.

ISRO announced that by 2030, Indians who can afford it will be able to don space suits, sit in a module atop a rocket and take a trip to space, for ₹6 crore. ISRO Chairman S Somnath said and I quote, “Work is in progress around India’s very own space tourism module, which is both safe and reusable.”
