Need to reform UNSC to reflect new realities: PM Modi to UNGA chief
Monday, 30 January 2023 PM Narendra Modi on Monday reiterated the importance of reforming the UN multilateral system, including the Security Council, so as to truly reflect contemporary geopolitical realities in a meeting with UNGA president Csaba Korosi. Korosi, who is visting India for what is his first bilateral visit, called on Modi on Monday and also met foreign minister S Jaishankar.

On Saturday, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar claimed that the land that opposition leaders say has been occupied by China ‘was in fact occupied in 1962’. His statement was made in a reference to the war when Jawaharlal Nehru was prime minister.
