Thursday, 2 February 2023 Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan, 43, was released from Lucknow jail Thursday morning—28 months after he was arrested by UP police while on his way to cover the gang rape and death of a young Dalit woman in Hathras in October 2020.

A case has been registered against an unidentified person in Lucknow after a death threat was received for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The threat message was received by message on 'Dial 112'… 112 is the toll-free number issued by the Uttar Pradesh government to call up the police in the event of an emergency. The unidentified person reprtedly stated in his threat that "I will Kill CM Yogi soon".
