Siddaramaiah govt's first Cabinet meet gives 'in-principle' nod for Cong's guarantees; estimates peg Rs 50,000 crore outgo
Saturday, 20 May 2023 The Karnataka government in its maiden Cabinet meeting on Saturday accorded "in-principle" approval to implement the Congress party's five guarantees and initial estimates indicate that it would cost the exchequer Rs 50,000 crore annually, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.
Karnataka Congress on Saturday released the first list of cabinet ministers. Apart from CM designate Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM designate DK Shivakumar six other ministers are likely to take the oath.

Conservative Party donor Frank Hester is reported to have said left-wing MP Diane Abbott "should be shot" at a meeting in 2019 – according to an investigation by The Guardian newspaper.
