Fake doctor who promised cure for joint pain held for duping elderly
Tuesday, 21 November 2023 () Four men, one posing as a doctor, have been arrested in Mumbai for cheating elderly people by offering a cure for joint pains. The accused would make cuts on the victims' limbs and extract "pus" to convince them of a cure. They charged Rs 6,500 for each treatment. The racket was exposed when a 69-year-old woman became suspicious after experiencing continued pain following the treatment. Police have recovered a car, fake identity cards, and details of six victims.
