A day after being removed from CBI, Alok Verma resigns from service

In his resignation letter, Alok Verma has said that it was a moment of "collective introspection". Verma had claimed that he was transferred on the basis of "false, unsubstantiated and frivolous allegations" made by only one person who was inimical to him. Verma was a 1979-batch IPS officer from AGMUT cadre.
