New Mumbai police commissioner: How NCP nixed Shiv Sena's choice

After two names were shortlisted by the Maha Vikas Aghadi for the post of Mumbai police commissioner, DGP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Param Bir Singh was chosen over the other contender, Pune police chief K Venkatesham. It was the NCP which tilted the scales in Singh’s favour, if a senior IPS officer is to be believed.
