China's Xi arrives in North Korea - Chinese state media
Thursday, 20 June 2019 China's President Xi Jinping has arrived in North Korea, Chinese state media said on Thursday.Xi will be in North Korea for two days, becoming the first Chinese leader to visit the reclusive country in 14 years, and could bring fresh support measures for its floundering, sanctions-bound economy.
According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping told North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that he hopes North Korea and the United States can continue talking and make progress, Chinese state media reported after the two leaders met in Pyongyang.
State media outlet KCNA said it boosted the country's strategic nuclear deterrence. South Korea's defence minister said it was an engine test.View on euronews
