Amazonian tribes in Ecuador join anti-austerity protests
Friday, 11 October 2019 Indigenous tribe representatives from the Amazon in Ecuador joined an anti-austerity demonstration in Quito on Friday, as hopes for talks between protest leaders and the government dimmed following more than a week of unrest.
For a sixth consecutive day, protesters filled the streets of Quito, Ecuador, demanding a reversal of President Lenin Moreno's anti-austerity measures that cut fuel subsidies in the country. Nathan Frandino has more.
