U.S. officials 'pause' Taliban talks after suicide attack
Friday, 13 December 2019 U.S. negotiators are taking a "brief pause" from talks with the Taliban after the militants launched a suicide attack on a U.S. base outside Kabul killing two civilians, Special Envoy for AfghanistanZalmay Khalilzad said on Friday.
A suicide bomber struck an under-construction medical facility at Bagram, the largest U.S. military base in northern Afghanistan, Wednesday morning (December 11).
The Taliban is claiming responsibility for the attack, Afghan and U.S. officials said.
