Thailand approves $3.6 billion stimulus to ease coronavirus impact
Tuesday, 24 March 2020 () Thailand's cabinet approved on Tuesday a package of stimulus measures worth at least 117 billion baht ($3.56 billion) to try and mitigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak that has infected more than 800 people in the country.
The federal government is set to give a bailout to industries hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic, from airlines to tourism.
A bailout is not strictly free money from the government, and could come in the form of loans or grants with limitations.
