Last year, British author Salman Rushdie was assaulted in a vicious knife attack. In an interview published Monday ahead of the release of his new novel ‘Victory City’, he said that he finds it "very difficult" to write after being stabbed last year.

Thousands Without Power , as Northeast Digs Out From Winter Storm.
AP reports that the Northeast was hit with a winter storm on March 13 which lasted throughout March 14.
Some areas accumulated up to 3 feet of snow.
According to the National Weather Service, some of the hardest-hit areas were Peterborough,
New Hampshire, and Ashby, Massachusetts. .
Northern New York and the Catskill Mountains had at least 2 feet of snow.
In Goffstown, New Hampshire, an inflatable sports arena dome succumbed to the weight of the snow after receiving about 15 inches.
A dairy farm in Dracut, Massachusetts,
lost several cows after a barn collapsed
from the snow and killed them.
According to PowerOutage.us, as of the morning of March 15, close to 220,000 people in the region had no power.
Amid the worst of the storm on March 14, nearly 2,100 flights were canceled.
Boston and New York City airports
had the most cancellations.
New York and Pennsylvania power crews
are currently attempting to help
restore power in areas of Massachusetts. .

Starbucks Committed , ‘Egregious and Widespread’ Labor Violations , Against Unions, Judge Says.
'The Hill' reports that Judge Michael A. Rosas made the ruling on March 1.
He ordered Starbucks to provide back pay
and damages to employees who launched organizing efforts around the country. .
The case included 33 labor complaints
from 21 Starbucks stores in New York. .
In his ruling, Rosas determined that the coffee giant showed "a general disregard for the employees' fundamental rights.".
Starbucks has also been ordered to post a
"Notice to Employees" in all of its U.S. facilities alerting staff that "the National Labor Relations Board has found that we violated Federal labor law.".
The company must also reopen
a Buffalo, NY, store and rehire workers
who were fired for forming unions.
Additionally, Starbucks must cease and desist from several unlawful actions such as telling staff they'll have more benefits if they don't join a union, among other things.
A Starbucks spokesperson issued a statement.
We believe the decision and the remedies ordered are inappropriate given the record in this matter and are considering all options to obtain further legal review, Starbucks spokesperson, via statement.
Starbucks currently has 281 unionized stores, and more locations around the U.S.

currently facing winter alerts and extreme
weather from California to Maine. .
The news comes as Minneapolis braces for its
biggest snowstorm in over a decade and the
potential for life-threatening travel conditions.
Due to obstructions, it is hard to get
blizzard conditions in major metropolitan
areas such as the Twin Cities, but with the
actively falling snow and strong winds,

A second round of snow has been forecast to start around
midday on February 23, with the potential to add 10 to 15
inches of snowfall and bring 45 to 50 mph wind gusts.

include Chicago, Detroit and Albany, New York.
Meanwhile, severe storms are predicted from Missouri
to the Oklahoma-Texas border, with the potential
for everything from hail and high winds to tornadoes.
