Key opposition leader in India disqualified from parliament after defaming PM Modi
Friday, 24 March 2023 A key Indian opposition leader has been disqualified from parliament after he was sentenced to two years in jail for making defamatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Ministry of Finance has said that a special ₹75 coin will be launched to commemorate the inauguration of the new parliament building. The new parliament building will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. While as many as 25 parties are expected to attend the ceremony, at least 20 opposition parties have decided to boycott the event.

The inauguration of India's new parliament in New Delhi on Sunday will see nearly zero representation from the opposition, with 20 parties announcing they will be boycotting the ceremony.
