Did Trump Really Say THIS About African Immigrants?by

We’re barely a week or two into the new year and Donald Trump has already been capturing headlines in the press like never before. It’s safe to say that it’s been a whirlwind year for Trump and his team, having been elected to the height of US politics in a series of events over the 2016 election that many believed to be unprecedented – and in the wake of the shock result, we have not only witnessed a significant shift in the global political climate, but also in the way that we see our world leaders. Donald Trump is arguably the first to be able to speak his mind so freely via Twitter – and, for the most part, this has provided the media with much of the news it has garnered from him over the past twelve to eighteen months.

Recent claims made in Michael Wolff’s controversial book Fire and Fury, which reportedly exposes a number of home truths about the President and the way he runs office via a number of sources (allegedly, and reportedly including Steve Bannon), have skyrocketed concerns over Trump’s ability to lead to the front pages once again – and supposed remarks the Commander in Chief made recently regarding immigrants to the US look set to claim even more headlines over the next few days.

It’s being alleged that Trump had supposedly advised US law officials that he did not wish to take in people from ‘sh*thole countries’ – thought to be from the likes of those in Africa and with immigrants arriving from Haiti and El Salvador also included – with the President proposing a focus instead on bringing in people from the likes of Norway. Trump has outright denied any claims that he used such language in a recent immigration meeting – but for some, the damage has already been done – and it is once again impacting upon Trump’s image in the public arena.

Representatives from both sides of US politics – Democrats and Republicans – are reportedly in shock regarding the supposed comments that have been made – with many claiming that this latest incident proves once and for all that Trump is racist. However, with such language only having been reported and with the alleged speaker refuting such claims at all, it will remain to be seen what action (if any) can be taken in light of such developments. Once again, 2018 looks to be proving a very interesting year for the Oval Office already!
