Chemical Weapons Watchdog To Evaluate Samples To Evaluate Alleged Attack
According to a report by Reuters, a team of inspectors from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons visited a site in Douma, Syria on Saturday to collect samples in order to determine whether chemical weapons were used in attack on April 7th.
According to a statement by the OPCW, the agency would now evaluate and consider whether the team needs to make a second visit to Douma.
Samples will be transported back to the Netherlands before being sent to the organization’s network of designated labs for analysis.
Since 2014 the OPCW has been investigating the alleged use of toxic chemicals in Syria’s civil war.
