VIEW FROM ROCKET TOWARDS DRAGON CARGO SPACESHIP AS SECOND STAGE SEPARATION OCCURS STORY: SpaceX successfully launched a cargo spacecraft on Wednesday (December 5) on a resupply mission heading to the International Space Station (ISS).

The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft lifted off on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida at about 1316 Eastern (1816GMT) filled with 6,000 pounds (2,721 kg) of cargo including numerous scientific experiments.

The Dragon spacecraft is expected to dock with the ISS on Saturday (December 8).

The Dragon spacecraft will remain docked to the International Space Station for about five weeks before being released and splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
