Howard Schultz on If He Runs and Polls Show He is Helping Trump, Will He Drop Out of the Race?

Potential 2020 presidential candidate Howard Schultz would not commit to dropping out of the race when asked if his presence as an Independent could help President Trump’s re-election.????The former Starbucks CEO was questioned by CNN’s Poppy Harlow on the subject during a town hall run by the cable news network.????When asked if his potential third party campaign meant he would be a spoiler and polls suggest it could lead to the president being re-elected, would Schultz drop out?????(Schultz SOT)??“If the numbers don’t add up, I will not run for president because I will not do anything whatsoever to re-elect Donald Trump.

No one wants to see him fired more than me.”??

??When pressed by Harlow if that meant he would drop out in the fall of 2020 if polling says his presidential bid is aiding Trump, Schultz pivoted to talking about giving the country a different choice that a third party candidate can offer.????The Trump second term scenario presented is one of the reasons Democrats have spoken out against Schultz’s flirtation with a presidential run.????Citing inexperience and Schultz’s affluency, freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted why aren’t billionaires told “they need to work their way up”, something she heard during her successful campaign.????Despite being given a town hall platform, Schultz has yet to officially declare his presidential candidacy as an Independent.
