(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S MARINE, ALI J ALKAZAHG, SAYING: "Drinking the cobra's blood was pretty fun." It may look like a scene from Rambo, but this is actually part of Asia's largest multinational military drill.

Thai soldiers led jungle training for foreign marines on Thursday (February 14), for the annual Cobra Gold exercises.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. MARINE, ALI J ALKAZAHG, SAYING: "Jungle survival experience for me is pretty high speed overall.

We learn how to eat different types of food, plants, animals, we learn humane ways of killing animals.

And we learn a lot of new tactics and traded information that I didn't know before." The sessions were designed to teach soldiers how to cope in emergency situations.

In this instance: how to forage and survive in a tropical forest by finding sustenance and sources of water - whether that be from plant vines or animal's blood.

Lessons also covered how to safely eat scorpions, spiders, and gibbons.
