Convoy carrying Indian pilot approaches Indian border

ROUGH CUT.

NO REPORTER NARRATION.

A convoy carrying a captured Indian pilot approached the border between India and Pakistan on Friday (March 1) as people on the Indian side of the border waited for his expected release.

The pilot, who India named on Thursday (February 28) as Wing Commander Abhinandan, has become the human face of the most recent conflict between the two nations.

Pakistan's expected release of Abhinandan on Friday marks a cooling in the confrontation between the nuclear powers after tensions escalated following a suicide car bombing that killed at least 40 Indian paramilitary police in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Feb.
