Video shows NZ police detain a suspect after mosque shootings

(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) New Zealand police detained four people on Friday (March 15) after mass shootings at two mosques in the city of Christchurch.

Videos shared with Reuters show an apparent suspect being detained by police officers from an SUV which was rammed by a police car as well as bystanders on the street crying after the shootings.

Police were also blocking traffic access following the incident.

The New Zealand Police Commissioner told reporters in Wellington that three men and one woman were in custody and added that they were able to secure improvised explosive devices (IEDs) strapped to vehicles.

New Zealand media have reported that between nine and 27 people have been killed.
