In The Wake of New Zealand Shooting, Obama Condemns ‘Hatred In All Its Forms’

After the shooting at two mosques in New Zealand that left 49 people dead, former president Barack Obama and wife Michelle offered their condolences.

????But Obama also ended his Tweet with a message of unity, saying, “We grieve with you and the Muslim community. All of us must stand against hatred in all its forms.”????Officials in New Zealand say a 28-year-old suspect was detained and identified himself as the shooter.

????The Hill reports that he is an Australian citizen who posted an 87-page manifesto prior to the shooting and was radicalized by right-wing influences.

????President Trump also voiced his support during the tragedy, writing, “49 innocent people have so senselessly died, with so many more seriously injured.

The U.S. stands by New Zealand for anything we can do.” ????The shooting has caused New York city and state to increase police presence around its mosques in the wake of the attack.??
