Trump says Hong Kong and China will "work it out"

Reuters reports U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he believes China and Hong Kong would be able to “work things out” following massive protests in the city against the proposed extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial.

The first protest against the bill on Sunday drew more than a million people, which is one out of seven people in the city.

The U.S. State Department said Monday it was concerned about the proposed amendments to extradition laws .
