Skippered by Nathan Outteridge, Japan earned a spot in the final with 49 points from three wins and two second place finishes over the five group races.

Tom Slingsby's Australia crew advanced to the final with 45 points from a win, three seconds, and a third.

The U.S. team finished in third overall with 37 points after giving the home crowd something to celebrate when they pulled off a surprise win in race five.

China placed fourth overall on 33 points with France just behind on 32.

After nearly capsizing and damaging their boat Saturday, Britain spent the night on repairs and returned for Sunday's races to earn third and fourth place finishes but ended the event in last place overall.
