Paper Police Dolls Illustrating Protest Violence Adorn Hong Kong's 'Lennon Wall'

A colorful visual representation of the Hong Kong protests appeared on a Lennon Wall in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, as seen in video shared on August 14.

Police officers and protesters are represented by paper dolls in the diorama.

Lennon Walls are named after an original started in the Czech Republic following the assassination of John Lennon in 1980.

They have since become symbols of protest in cities around the world.

The artwork on the Lennon Wall in Tsuen Wan, which consists mainly of Post-it notes, has been growing in recent weeks.

Many of the notes contain messages from protesters, as well as anti-government cartoons and artwork.

The wall has received significant national and international media attention (see here and here.) Since March, Hong Kong has experienced mass protests sparked by a proposed extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial.

The protests have grown in strength, with hundreds of thousands participating in multiple rallies.
