Mexico Expresses Concern Over Proposed Immigration Rule

Mexico’s Foreign Ministry expressed “concern” over Donald Trump’s new immigration proposal.

The U.S. unveiled a new plan to permit extended periods of detention for migrant children and adolescents.

According to Reuters, the rule allows officials to detain migrant families indefinitely.

They can be held while judges consider whether to grant them asylum in the U.S. This new rule would abolish a previous rule which held a 20-day limit detention.
