West Point Runs 5A Back-To-Back

And to our last state title game - west point aiming to go back to back and keep the belt as the green wave faced hattiesburg in the 5a state championship... and the greenies wasted no time scoring early - marcus murphy 16 yard td run ensuing hattiesburg drive - the turnover belt would stay with xavier fair - gets the pick on 4th down.

Wave take over.

And take advantage - the magic man gets free and takes off.

54 yard touchdown and more defense - snoop conner's pass picked off by tyler rupert.

West point would turn it over on downs on the ensuing drive though... and the tigers would cash in when the 2nd qtr came around - conner's short td run makes it a 14-7 game.

But west point hits back before the half - long pass from murphy to who else, jason brownlee.

Inside the red zone... and chris calvert steps in to finish off the drive - 4 yard td 3rd qtr - murphy picks right up where he left off - 16 yard touchdown run.

His 3rd of the night more from murph - this one, his most impressive of the night - breaking off tackles left & right on a 4th down touchdown scamper.

4 td's on the evening for marcus murphy 4th qtr - the capper - chris calvert, using his incredible offensive line to get him into the end zone for the exclamation point.

It's a back to back title wave for west point - the green wave finish a perfect 15-0 season with a resounding 41- 15 victory over hattiesburg to claim the school's 9th all time football state championship.

Here's the greenies after the win...
