With the run-off election between mike espy and cindy hyde-smith only days away, polls are seeing a high absentee voting turnout.
The lee county circuit clerk's office held voting until noon todaywith about two hundred and fifty voters turning out.
This is particularly high for absentee voting for a run-off election.
With voter turnout increasing since the midterm elections four years ago...the office is expecting high voter turn-out again... in the run-off "this last election we had some precincts with about 70% voter turnout, which is amazing for this type of election.
Normally, we don't see numbers that high, unless it is presidential.
So, i think we're gonna vote high again in the run-off."
