Pelosi says Trump had 'meltdown' following House vote on Syria

U.S. President Donald Trump faced harsh criticism for the withdrawal of troops from Syria and lashed out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, calling her a "third-rate" politician during a tense White House meeting after which she accused him of having a "meltdown." Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. forces before a Turkish offensive into northern Syria last week has shattered the relative calm there.

He is now facing criticism for abandoning the Kurds who helped the United States fight Islamic State militants in the region.
