Thailand's king has stripped his royal consort of her title and military ranks, the palace said on Monday (October 21).
King Maha Vajiralongkorn made Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi a royal noble consort in July - the first such appointment in nearly a century.
But in the statement, read on Thai television, the palace said she had been disloyal.

She is also not content with the title bestowed upon her, doing everything to rise to the level of the queen.
She lack understanding of royal traditions and acted rebelliously against the king and queen." Sineenat's appointment followed the king's marriage to the deputy head of his personal bodyguard, Suthida Tidjai.
He named her as his queen just days before his coronation in May.
