Locals take snake selfies with 10-foot-long python lying on road in northern India

A giant python, estimated to be 10-feet-long, surfaced on a city road in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand causing a crowd to gather around the resting reptile.

The incident happened on February 9 in the city of Roorkee, with footage showing a crowd of commuters standing and watching the reptile lying on the road.

Other locals on seeing the python got excited and picked it up to pose for pictures and videos.

According to reports, locals informed forest department officials who immediately set out to the spot, and released it into the nearby forest away from populated areas.
