Putin Attempts To Continue His Presidency In Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin formally asked the country’s constitutional court if it’s legal to amend the constitution.

Right now, there is a constitutional ban on him running again in 2024.

According to Reuters, if the court says yes, Putin could remain in power until 2036.

The Kremlin said the house of the country’s parliament and regional parliaments approved the constitutional changes.
