Jackson County marks third confirmed case of COVID-19, first community spread

Health officials announced the new case on Tuesday morning.

It is the first case in the area that is not directly travel-related, but appears to have come from some community contact.

There is no know travel-related exposure in this case.

Nor does the patient know anyone who has he virus.

Jackson county public health says there is more evidence of active community spread all across the u-s.

The department says this makes it more important than ever to follosephine county.

With that timeline, other people are identified as being potentially exposed to the virus.

As people are identified as being possibly exposed, they are contacted almost immediately.

It's a time consuming process because of the amount of information the investigation tjackson county's latest case is included in today's update from the oregon health authority.

Here's a breakdown of the cases in our region.

Jackson and siskiyou county each have three cases.

Klamath and josephine counties each have one.

Curry and lake counties do not have any confirmed cases.po, deaths, and negative test results for each county.

It does not post the number of pending test results.

You're seeing the break down for southern oregon.

Nearly 80 negative test results have been posted since yesterday for jackson county.

It total- the state has gotten more than 43-hundred negative test results.

Here's the breakdown for siskiyou county.

A total of 42 tests have been sent to the lab.

Three of them have come back positive.

26 have come back negative.

Siskiyou county public health is still waiting for results on 13 tests.
