Chinese zoo allows visitors to dangle raw meat into tiger enclosure

A wildlife park in Yunnan, southern China, provides raw meat for tourists to dangle into an enclosure full of tigers.

The video shows tourists could stand outside the fence and feed meat to the tigers with a long bamboo pole.

Zoo staff said that the fishing platform is three-metres-high and the guardrail is about a metre high; there is no possibility of a tiger jumping into the crowd.

It’s reported that this is an interactive project by the zoo and has existed for a couple of years; there have been no cases of tourists being dragged down.

After online complaints, the zoo decided to cancel the "Tiger Fishing" project, which will not be resumed in the future, and focus on creating a natural environment for the animals.

The video was filmed on March 30 and provided by local media.
