Amid nationwide lockdown, more than 300 migrant labourers gathered at Velachery Checkpost and demanded help for their return to their home hometowns.

These migrant labourers have been stranded for over a month.

They demanded that the police should allow them to leave for home.

They asked that if they are not allowed to travel by vehicles or any other public transport, then they should at least be allowed to walk.

Police reached the spot and collected the basic information of all the migrants and assured them that they are looking into the matter and they will soon be sent to their native places.
