Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad on July 4 informed about the latest count of COVID cases in the state. He said, "In the last 24 hours, 772 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the state. There are 7,627 active cases, 18154 discharges so far and 773 patients have succumbed to the infection."

Indian Army organised a tour for school students in Srinagar under outdoor classroom learning experience. The visit was named as 'Know Your Army' tour. The students of Army Goodwill School (AGS) Hanzik visited JAK LI Regimental Centre. The tour was organised to develop interests and abilities of students with an aim to broaden the horizon of learning and break the monotonous schedule amid COVID-19 pandemic. Around 93 students participated in the tour. The students were shown a movie on history of rising of the centre and its gallantry achievements. Wreath laying ceremony of Central Reserve Police Force jawan Kuldeep Oraon was carried out in Srinagar on July 03. Kuldeep Oraon lost his life in an encounter with terrorists in Malbagh on July 02. One terrorist was also neutralised by the security forces during the gunfight.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on July 4 visited the residence of a civilian, who was killed during an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Sopore on July 1. He was accompanied by other senior police officers during the visit. IGP Kumar paid condolences to the family members and prayed for the departed soul. A jawan had also died while three personnel were injured in encounter. The civilian was killed by terrorists on July 1 in Sopore. Heart-wrenching images of a 3-year-old boy, grandson of the deceased had emerged from the encounter site.

Ace choreographer Saroj Khan passed away at the age of 71 in Mumbai on July 03. She was admitted to hospital on June 20 after she complained of breathing issues. She died due to a cardiac arrest in the ICU of Guru Nanak Hospital. The last rites of Saroj Khan will be performed at Malvani in Malad. She has given various hit choreographies including, 'Dola Re Dola', 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga' and 'Ek Do Teen'.

Speaking on the preparations in Delhi amid rising cases, HM said, "On Jun14, there were 9937 COVID19 beds in Delhi. 30,000 beds will be available by June 30. 8000 beds are available in railway coaches, 8000 more are being added. DRDO setting up dedicated hospital with 250 ICU beds. ITBP will run 10,000 bedded Radha Soami Satsang Beas COVID19 centre."
Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on June 26 said the state government is procuring important anti-viral drugs and increasing their stock in each district to ensure availability. "A resolution has been passed in the Cabinet for availing the services of PG final year medical students in ICU wards," said Tope. "COVID-19 cases are expected to rise during July and August but we are working to ensure that the fatality rate does not go up. We are increasing the number of doctors and ICU beds in the state to meet the demand," he added.
