Indian Air Force (IAF) Apache attack helicopter, at a forward airbase near India-China border, carried out night operations. These attack helicopters are fully loaded with fire-and-forget anti tank guided missiles, air to air missiles, rockets and other ammunitions. Apache helicopters also have modern Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities to provide versatility to the helicopter in a network centric aerial warfare. These aircrafts have been modified specifically to suit the exacting standards demanded by IAF.

Informing about the weather update, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, IMD (Chennai) Dr S Balachandran, said moderate rainfall is expected in next 48 hours in Tamil Nadu. "During last 24 hours, fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry region. Next 48 hours over Tamil Nadu light to moderate rainfall is expected. "While, North Tamil Nadu and some interior districts of TN will receive heavy rains," he added.
One person has been injured in a fire which broke out at a pharma company in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Visakhapatnam on July 13 informed DCP Visakhapatnam Suresh Babu. He further said that 90 per cent of the fire has been doused. "90 per cent of the fire has been doused. Fire fighting operations are still underway. One person has been injured in the incident. We will investigate the matter," he said.

Indian Coast Guard rescued six Sri Lankan fishermen by a merchant vessel YM Summit from 170 nautical miles east of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The rescue operation was coordinated by Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) of Mumbai and Chennai on July 05 morning. The merchant vessel was on her way to Visakhapatnam when she sighted a capsized fishing boat with six survivors atop, at about 07:15 am on 05 Jul 2020, approximately 170 nautical miles east of Chennai. The master transmitted the information to MRCC, Mumbai which was timely shared with MRCC, Chennai for further coordination. MRCC Chennai coordinated with the vessel for safe rescue of the survivors. The six survivors are identified as natives of Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. They were reportedly stranded and adrift at sea, braving the vagaries of rough weather for four days. MRCC, Chennai further, coordinated with the Sri Lankan Deputy High Commission, Chennai and MRCC Colombo to verify the credentials and arranging for their safe return to home.
At least two workers died due to leakage of Benzimidazole gas in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. Four got hospitalised after falling sick following the gas leakage on June 30. While speaking to ANI, the DCP of Visakhapatnam, Suresh Babu said, "Around 2 people died and 4 were admitted in hospitals for medical treatment. We are enquiring the cause of gas leakage." The incident took place at Sainor Life Sciences Pvt Ltd.

India's amphibious warship Indian Navy Ship (INS) Jalashwa, which has been deployed to bring back the stranded citizens from Iran under Operation Samudra Setu, has departed from Bandar Abbas port on June 25 with 687 Indians aboard for Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. INS Jalashwa reached the port of Bandar Abbas in Iran on June 24. On June 11, INS Shardul had brought back 233 Indians from Iran. Operation Samudra Setu is a part of Vande Bharat Mission to bring back stranded citizens overseas amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Indian Navy had launched Operation Samudra Setu on May 08 to repatriate Indian citizens. INS Jalashwa and Magar have already evacuated 2,874 personnel from Maldives and Sri Lanka to ports of Kochi and Tuticorin. On June 23, INS Airavat brought back 198 Indians from Maldives.
