Origami-Inspired Moon Home Prepares For Testing
This is an origami-inspired moon home.
It is set to be tested later this year (2020).
The Lunark is a compact habitat designed to fold down to a size that allows easy transportation.
The idea is the brainchild of 2 Danish space architects who say they have "a dream of making outer space accessible for everyone.” Sebastian Aristotelis and Karl-Johan Sørensen are currently crowdfunding to carry out a 3-month simulated moon mission in the harsh climate of northern Greenland.
They say: "Isolated and confined in one of the harshest climates on Earth, we will test our habitat.
Enduring -30°c, hurricane winds, and hungry polar bears when we venture on our most extreme project to date."
