NDRF refutes 2nd gas leak rumours at Vizag; locals sleep outside their homes

People slept outside their houses due to fear over May 7 gas leak mishap in Visakhapatnam.

People living near RR Venkatapuram vacated their houses following gas leakage from LG Polymers plant.

NDRF chief S N Pradhan dismissed reports of second leakage, said 'not true'.

Earlier, chemical PTBC (Para-tertiary butyl catechol) was flown to Visakhapatnam to neutralize gas leak.

PTBC reached Visakhapatnam from Gujarat to neutralise the impact of gas leak.

An Air India flight airlifted the chemical to Visakhapatnam via Mumbai and Pune.

Gas fumes leaked from tanker at LG Polymers in Vizag claimed 11 lives and exposed 1,000 others.
