Assamese migrant workers wait at roadside in Chennai for their turn to get home

A large group of Assamese migrant workers are waiting for their turn at a roadside in Chennai to go back to their home state.

Migrant workers appealed to the government to facilitate their return to the state.

"The factory is closed.

We don't have any money left now.

We appeal to Assam government to do something for us and take us back", said a migrant worker.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases mounted to 9,227 in Tamil Nadu.

However, In Assam, only 80 coronavirus cases have been reported reported so far.
