BJP is protesting, ones who have sold paddy and received the money shouldn't protest on moral ground, said Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. "Nearly 17-18 lakh farmers have sold their produce. BJP is protesting, those who don't believe in the system may protest or those who couldn't sell their produce. The ones who have sold paddy and received the money shouldn't protest," said CM Baghel.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel accused BJP of maligning any sort of protests. Baghel said that BJP called them Pakistani, Khalistani and even alleged them of being middleman's broker, but they won't be successful in their attempts in suppressing farmers. CM Bhupesh Baghel said, "Whenever there's a protest, BJP tries to malign it. As for protesting farmers, sometimes they (BJP) called them Pakistani or Khalistani. They even alleged that farmers are middleman's broker. NIA's notice has also been sent to the houses of the protesting farmers. Regardless of their attempts to suppress, farmers won't be scared."
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel asked Centre that if it can provide free covid vaccine to 3 crore people then what about rest countrymen? "135 crore people live in this country, the central government has said that they will give vaccine to 3 crore people for free, then what will happen to 132 crore people? Government of India should tell about this. Currently, the vaccine is not for the general public but for the frontline workers," he said.
Like every year, 'Halwa Ceremony' was held at Finance Ministry ahead of upcoming Union Budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Thakur, were present during the ceremony. The halwa ceremony is a customary tradition which marks the process of printing documents of the Budget. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no printing of the Budget. MPs will be able to access the budget documents through a mobile app.

Cow dung vendors staged a protest in Rajnandgaon demanding to resume a nearby cow dung procurement centre. "We can't go far to sell cow dung. We want to sell it to our nearby centre only," says a vendor. According to Rajnandgaon Sub-Divisional Magistrate MK Rawte, "Vendors have been asked to sell the dung at a different centres but they are demanding to sell it at the centres where they were selling previously. The issue is being discussed by the authority." Chhattisgarh govt has started a scheme 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' in June last year in which the government procures cow-dung from dairy vendors and farmers. The rate of purchasing the cow-dung is over Rs 1 per kg. The aim of the scheme is to preserving and improving cow shedding, promoting the production of vermicompost and improving the rural economy.

FIR lodged against director Prakash Jha for allegedly hurting SC-ST sentiments in Aashram. Rajasthan Police said the case has been registered at Luni police station in Jodhpur Rural. Jha, who has also produced the web series, allegedly promoted discrimination against SC-ST. Luni station house officer Sitaram Pawar said a probe into the allegations has begun. "The complaint against web series Aashram has been registered by DR Meghwa. Complainant said people of SC-ST communities have been insulted in the first episode. We have registered the case under relevant sections and further probe is underway," Pawar said. Earlier in December 2020, a Jodhpur court had issued a notice to Jha and actor Bobby Deol. The notice was issued in connection with another case filed against the web series. Aashram is a Hindi crime drama series which also stars Darshan Kumar, Anupriya Goenka.
