Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal during Indo-American investment series talk on June 25 said that US was largest trading partner but last year, it has now become the largest merchandise trading partner also. Piyush Goyal further said, "It's time to give a message to people that international trade can only be successful if there are peace and harmony and collective efforts to ensure that sovereign interests of both nations are mutually respected by each-other."
Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal on June 22 said that 1.25 million Railway employees have worked tirelessly and transported almost 75 lakh migrants so far. He also added that the Railway employees have also improved infrastructure and run freight trains. He was addressing the CII's 12th Horasis India Meeting.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on July 4 said that the state government didn't stop the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) work during the lockdown. "Several people put PIL and even went to High Court, we reply their also but we didn't stop MGNREGA. There was a time when most number of labourers worked in Chhattisgarh. We paid every labourers within 15 days, and we didn't get any complaint in regards to payment," he said.

In Chhattisgarh's Raigarh two robbers killed ATM cash van driver in a loot incident. A CCTV footage shows that the two robbers speeding off on a bike and pointing pistols at shocked passersby. Raigarh's Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abhishek Verma said, "Two men on bike came outside the ATM, their faces were covered with white cloth, one of them went inside the ATM and the other one walked up the driver and shot him, killing him on the spot, another person is in injured condition." Police has started the investigation.
Residents of 50 villages in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur on June 29 broke police barricading to enter collector office with their demands. The demands included cash payment to them for collection of Tendu leaves. The protestors had walked to the office from Cherpal village, covering 25 km on foot. One of the protestors said, "The Collector told us that we will be given cash within two days. If that doesn't happen we will protest again."
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on June 28 slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "no one has intruded India's borders nor has any post come under anyone's custody". He said, "External Affairs Minister had stated that Chinese soldiers have not only come inside the Indian border but have made some constructions but on the other hand, PM Modi contradicts it and deny any intrusion of Chinese on the Indian side."
Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated state's biggest garbage processing plant on June 24. The CM inaugurated the plant via video conferencing from his official residence in Raipur. He congratulated the entire team associated with the execution of the Garbage processing plant. CM Baghel said, "The plant is capable of process 500 ton garbage on a daily basis. With this Chhattisgarh will become the first state where the acquired waste will be processed completely through scientific means."
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on May 29 paid his last respect to the first chief minister of Chhattisgarh and former Congress leader Ajit Jogi. Ajit Jogi passed away at the age of 74 after suffering a cardiac arrest. His funeral will take place tomorrow in his native land Gaurella.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on May 17 slammed Centre over plight of migrant workers. He said, "If Railways had run trains from all states end to end, migrants wouldn't have been forced to walk." "As per the arrangements that have been made, trains can run only after the agreement between 2 states, this is causing the delays," he said. "It took 3 days to get permission from Karnataka, similarly UP is causing delays. We sought permission from J-K on May 11 and still haven't received it. If Railways had run trains from all states end to end, migrants wouldn't have been forced to walk," he added. Giving details of arrangements made by his state, CM Baghel said that around 75,000 labourers who were stranded in other states have been brought back, of which 16,000 were brought by trains and rest by road.
Heavy rainfall has been reported in the coastal areas of Bengaluru. Indian Meteorological Department Director, Bengaluru, CS Patil provided fresh updates over current weather situation as well as upcoming weather forecast. He said, "For last 24 hours, coastal districts experienced widespread rainfall of 10 cm. In the next five days, coastal districts are very likely to face isolated rainfall in next five days. North- interior Karnataka is likely to experience heavy rainfall on July 09 and July 10".
Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar on July 05 stated that criminal case will be filed against those private hospitals that refuse to admit COVID-19 patients. Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Karnataka has reached 21,549.
The complete lockdown is being observed in Karnataka from July 05 in view of rise in COVID-19 cases. The state government has announced a complete lockdown in the state on all Sundays till August 02. The essential activities allowed during night curfew will be permitted during Sunday lockdown too and marriages already fixed on Sundays also permitted during the period.
